Baan Tiew Batik Workshop

A drawing becomes a piece of fabric art at Baan Tiew, where visitors work through the batik process with Tiew's guidance. The workshop uses silk cloth and cotton T-shirts: first sketching a design, then tracing its outlines in wax before filling the separate areas with coloured dyes. The result is a handmade piece to take home, shaped by the visitor's own choice of image and colour. This is a practical craft session with demonstrations and time to work on the fabric.
